Visiting and friends
Visiting other islands, choosing who may visit yours, and adding friends.
You can walk round other players' islands, and they can walk round yours.
Visiting an island
/visit <player> takes you to the island that player is playing right now, which may be a co-op island; the owner doesn't need to be online. /visit on its own lists up to 8 public islands in a random order. Islands are never ranked.
Visitors land at the island's arrival point. An island takes 8 visitors at a time, or 16 if its Owner has the Island Host upgrade from the store. Co-op members coming home don't take a visitor place.
What visitors can do
Visitors can walk round and look. They can't place or break blocks, open containers, use doors or buttons, pick up items or touch animals. Nobody takes damage on someone else's island, players can't fight on islands, and falling into the void brings you back to the island.
Who may visit your island
| Mode | Who may visit | Command |
|---|---|---|
| Public | Anyone, and the island is listed among the public islands | /island public |
| Friends only | Players you and they have both added as friends | /island friends |
| Private | Only your co-op | /island private |
Only the Owner can change the mode, while standing on the island. Your co-op can always come home, whatever the mode.
Friends
Friendship goes both ways: you add someone with /friend <name>, they add you back, and either of you can end it. Its only effect is who may visit a friends-only island. /friends lists your friends and the players who added you.
