Co-op islands
Playing one island with friends: inviting, roles and permissions, shared spending, requests and projects.
A co-op is one island played by up to 6 players, the Owner included. Everyone on it shares the island, its habitats, beasts, eggs, Archive, storage and Islemarks; What each island keeps lists what stays yours. Because the wallet is shared, members of one island can't trade with each other or buy each other's Auction House lots.
Inviting and joining
/invite <name> works for anyone who has played on the server before, online or not. The Owner and, by default, Managers can invite, and invitations don't expire.
Invitations wait in /profile invites, and you join as a Member. Joining needs a free profile slot: every account can be part of 2 islands at once, counting the ones you own and the ones you joined. A player who joins an island that is already under way gets its progress as it is; the opening quests don't start over and their rewards aren't paid again.
Roles
There are three roles. The player who created the island is its first Owner, and new players always join as Members.
- Owner. Can always do everything. Only the Owner can change permissions, change roles, remove members and hand the island over.
- Manager. By default can invite players, move habitats, swap the beasts working in habitats, and lock and unlock beasts.
- Member. By default can lock beasts.
Every role can always play, train and care for beasts, build, use chests and change the island's time and weather.
The Owner changes what Managers and Members may do in /roles, with a preset or one permission at a time. A preset replaces everything the role could do before.
| Preset | What the role may do |
|---|---|
| Builder | Buy with the island's Islemarks, move habitats, lock beasts |
| Breeder | Start breedings, use Lineage Charms, swap working beasts, lock and unlock beasts |
| Trader | List items for sale, sell to the server, buy and trade, lock beasts |
| Manager defaults | Invite players, move habitats, swap working beasts, lock and unlock beasts |
Some permissions are off for both roles until the Owner gives them: picking up habitats, expanding the border, releasing and refining beasts, listing, selling and trading, taking beasts out as items, moving Legendary beasts, and making big purchases of 100 Islemarks or more.
Spending the island's Islemarks
When a Manager or Member pays for something, it comes out of their role's daily allowance. The allowance is shared by everyone in that role and refills over a rolling 24 hours; /roles shows what is left.
| Role | Can pay for | Islemarks | Each family material |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manager | Blocks and other purchases, breeding, habitat upgrades | 500 | 500 |
| Member | Building blocks only | 100 | 100 |
- A single payment of 100 Islemarks or more also needs the permission to make big purchases.
- Lineage Charms and Keystone Fragments can't be spent from an allowance, so only the Owner spends them.
- Selling, the Auction House, trades and island upgrades don't use the allowance; they need their own permissions.
/profile history lists the island's big changes, such as purchases, breedings, releases, trades and members joining or leaving. Every member can read it.
Requests
A Manager or Member can ask the Owner and Managers for something their role may not do, with /request <text> or a ready-made ask on the projects board, such as Start a breeding. The Owner and Managers answer in /requests. Requests and projects open once a second player is on the island, with the lesson Better together.
Projects
/projects holds up to three goals the co-op works on together, pinned by the Owner or a Manager.
- Material projects. Collect an amount of one family's material. Progress is what your storage holds right now.
- Breeding projects. A species with Production or Power at a set value or better. Progress is the best value your Archive has recorded for that species.
The board also counts each member's training, care and breedings since Monday. Members are listed by name, never ranked.
Leaving, removing and handing over
- Leave. Managers and Members leave with
/profile leave. Everything they built or raised stays on the island, and their profile slot is freed. - Remove. The Owner removes a member with
/profile kick <name>. - Change a role. The Owner uses
/profile setrole <name> <manager|member>. - Hand over. The Owner can make another member Owner with
/profile transfer <name>. The old Owner stays on as a Manager, and only the new Owner can give ownership back. - Delete. Only an Owner alone on the island can delete it. With other members, hand the island over and then leave.
The Owner can't leave without handing the island over first.
