Currencies
What each currency is for, how to earn it and where it is kept.
Everything of value belongs to your island, not to you. Each island has one wallet for Islemarks and one storage for everything else, and every co-op member on the island uses the same ones. A second island on your account has its own wallet and storage. /balance shows what your island holds.
Islemarks
Islemarks are the money of the game. They pay for building blocks, breeding, family unlocks, island upgrades, cosmetics and other players' Auction House lots. They have no item form and can't be bought in the store.

Islemarks can go into a direct trade with another player, but you can't list them on the Auction House.
Keystone Fragments
Keystone Fragments are the rare currency, for special things. They can't be sold, listed or traded.
| Way to earn | Amount | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Wild Titans | 4 for the top damage, 3 for second and third, 2 for everyone else who helped; about half if it escapes | 3 Titans per island per day |
| Species mastery goals | 5 each for three goals per species | Once, 225 in all |
| Trial first clears | 5 at tier III, 10 at IV, 2 at VI, 3 at IX and 4 at XII, per line | Once, 120 in all |
| Trader chapters | 5 after 25 jobs for one trader | Once per trader, 25 in all |
| Nexavyr, after the first win | 20 a win, or 40 if you take the fragment choice | One win per preparation |
Spend them on the top habitat theme of each family, which costs 60 fragments and 5,000 of the family's material, and on the Keystone blocks in the block shop at 10 fragments per 16.
Family materials
Each family's beasts make one material while they work in their habitat. Collected materials go straight into your island's storage and are spent from there.

Materials belong to the island that made them. They come only from your habitats, plus 25 for every Beastkeeping veteran rank; Production and storage has the rates. They can't be bought, traded or listed, and they never turn into items you carry.
They pay for breeding, family unlocks, Lineage Charms, luxury blocks, the top habitat themes, Workshop recipes and the Legendary preparation. Surplus can go to the server for 1 Islemark each, or to supply commissions and trade visitors, who pay 1.3 each.
Lineage Charms
A Lineage Charm makes a breeding pass one parent's trait to the egg at its exact value; Breeding explains how. You can craft one for 25 Islemarks and 60 of one family's material, or earn them:
- finishing all six goals of a species mastery, one per species;
- the first clear of a trial line at tier II;
- 10 finished jobs for one trader;
- one in four trade visitors and supply commissions that ask for materials, and every visitor who asks for a beast;
- beast placement commissions that ask for a trait of 7 or more;
- your first Nexavyr win, and swapping 20 Keystone Fragments for 2 Charms after later wins.
Charms are kept in storage and can be listed on the Auction House or traded, but not sold to the server.
Fish and adventure items
Fish, bait, lures, rods, trial spoils and offerings also live in your island's storage. All of them can be listed on the Auction House or traded. Only fish can be sold to the server, for 1 Islemark for a common up to 120 for a great catch. Fishing, The Workshop and Trials explain where they come from.
The store
The Beastbound store sells ranks, festivals that boost everyone on the server, account upgrades and cosmetics for real money. It never sells Islemarks, Keystone Fragments, materials, beasts or anything else you could trade. Ranks and the store lists what each item does.
