Trade visitors

The five traders who visit your island with a request, what they ask for and what they pay.

Once your island has bred its first beast, traders from the Haven start visiting it. Each wants something from your island and pays for it, and you can always send one on for free.

The traders

There are five traders, one per family. Each deals in their family's material and only comes once your island has discovered that family.

When they come

  • A trader only arrives while someone from your island with visits switched on is standing on it, 30 to 60 minutes after the previous one.
  • If a visit fell due while nobody was there, the next trader comes 5 to 20 minutes after someone is back. Visits don't pile up while you are offline.
  • Only one trader visits at a time. They wait 30 minutes, then leave without trading.

Each player switches visits on or off in /settings; they start on. The Owner or a Manager can also keep traders out of sight there, and hidden traders still wait in /travellers.

What they ask and pay

RequestPays
100, 150, 200, 250 or 300 of their material, from your storage1.3 Islemarks per material, 130 to 390. One time in four: 0.9 per material and a Lineage Charm
An adult of a species you have raised, with Production or Power of at least 5, 6, 7 or 8. Only once your island has raised an adult of their family, one request in three60 Islemarks, plus 25 per trait point above 5 and 20 or 40 for the family's second or third species, plus a Lineage Charm and the usual payout for releasing the beast

The pay is fixed when the trader arrives. A beast you hand over leaves through Release, so it must be in your Reserve and not locked.

Answering a trader

Answer a trader in person or from /travellers. You can give what they ask, send them on for nothing, or, once commissions are open, take the job: that turns the request into a commission that never expires and counts toward that trader's chapters.

In a co-op, giving materials needs the permission to sell island items and handing over a beast the permission to release beasts. Any member can send a trader on.
